JOCAVIOは、2021年の創業以来「ワクシニアウイルス」の遺伝子改変技術を基盤に、新規がん治療法を開発し、進行癌の患者さんの生存率を改善することをミッションとして事業を進めてまいりました。
もうひとつのミッションとして、ワクシニアウイルスを用いたウイルス感染症に対するより安全なワクチン開発を展開しております。
一人ひとりの病気への不安を取り除くことを目標に、アンメッドメディカルニーズに挑み続けます。

Message from the President
"Creating New Therapeutic Strategies Based on the Vaccinia Virus"
Since its establishment in 2021, JOCAVIO's mission has been to improve the survival rate of patients with advanced cancer by developing new cancer therapies based on the genetic modification technology of "vaccinia virus".
As another mission, we are developing safer vaccines against viral infections using vaccinia virus.
We will continue to challenge unmet medical needs with the goal of eliminating each person's fear of disease.

代表略歴
九州大学医学研究院で博士号取得。日本学術振興会特別研究員として血液発生学分野で基礎研究に従事し、講師として教育に従事。 アカデミアでキャリアを積んだのち、フリーランサーとして医薬翻訳・校正および研究費獲得コンサルタント業務に従事。その後、JOCAVIO株式会社を設立。
Representative biography
Ph.D. from Kyushu University School of Medicine. Engaged in basic research in the fields of hematology and embryology as a JSPS Research Fellow and in education as associate professor. After a career in academia, she worked as a freelancer in pharmaceutical translation and proofreading and as a consultant for obtaining research funding. She then founded JOCAVIO Co.Ltd.
創業のきっかけ
創業者の一人である井上博之は呼吸器内科医として、数多くの進行固形がん患者さんの治療に向き合う中で、完治に至らないことへの無力感を感じ、新規がん免疫治療研究及び開発に日米の大学病院にて携わってまいりました。近年の腫瘍免疫学における目覚ましい進歩によりがんの完全寛解、治癒も夢ではなくなってきた今、JOCAVIO(よかヴィオ)株式会社を牽引し、製薬企業での経験者や日米両国において最先端のがん研究者メンバーが協力して革新的腫瘍溶解性ウイルス療法（がん免疫療法）の開発を推進しさらなる新しい医療の提供に挑戦してまいります。
Reason for the founding
Hiroyuki Inoue, M.D., Ph.D. is a physician scientist and one of three co-founders of the company. In his tenure of being a respiratory oncologist, he has faced countless despair where he is helpless with dying patients with advanced solid tumors. As he has led cancer immunotherapy R&D in Kyushu University he has seen a light with significant advancement in cancer immunology where curative cancer therapy with the current advances in cancer immunotherapy becomes reality. Partnering with seasoned pharma experts, he is instrumental in leading the development of innovative oncolytic virotherapies in collaboration with leading cancer researchers in both Japan and the United States.
